Frequently Asked Questions
How do I contact soundscape?
I’ve never played an instrument before, can I play a Soundscape instrument?
All of the SoundScape instruments are easy to learn, and therefore suited for beginners. All instruments come with extensive instructions too, so that everybody is able to learn how to play them.
We aim to provide instruments that are easy to learn, and allow you to get a good sound relatively quickly. Still, our instruments provide enough opportunity to develop yourself musically, and they allow you to continue to improve on them and get more creative in your playing.
Are Soundscape instruments concert tuned?
All of our instruments are concert tuned (also known as concert pitched) at A = 440hz. This means that our instruments correspond with and can be played together with all other instruments in common tuning, such as a piano.
Some of our instruments are tuned to a certain key. For example, most of our ocarinas are tuned to the key of C. Other instruments are available in various keys, for example our Native American flutes are available in the key of A, G or F#.
Tuning and intonation is very important to us and we have dedicated much time and resources to get these factors as accurate as possible. We aim to provide instruments with a correct balance between sound quality, tuning and intonation for the best price.
